What you are looking at
Global Conflict Awareness maps publicly reported conflict events across five theatres — Iran, Ukraine, the Taiwan Strait, NATO’s European flank and the Caribbean — and updates every five minutes. Each point on the map is an event extracted from open sources, filtered for noise, geolocated, attributed to a side and timestamped in UTC. None of it is verified on the ground: the platform structures what is reported, it does not confirm that it happened.
The two columns show the latest events for each side of the active theatre, in the language you choose. The controls under the map filter by side and by time window; the lightning button shows only strikes reported by visitors themselves. Attribution describes who is reported to have acted and is not a finding of responsibility. Every headline is truncated, credited and linked to its original publication.
What the map cannot show — how a day compares with the previous one in volume, attribution and geography — is computed each morning in the daily briefings. The method, including its known failure modes and the theatres where it is weakest, is documented on the methodology page.
